Panto-ho-ho!

This week, we were lucky enough to take Year R to see Jack and The Beanstalk performed at the Harlington Centre. The children were incredibly well behaved (oh no they weren’t, OH YES THEY WERE!) and it was so nice to have members of staff compliment us on how lovely they all were. I had the pleasure of sitting next to a little girl who had not yet been to the panto, and she squeezed her little hand into mine the whole way through (because she was scared the giant would come out on stage!) Afterwards, when I asked her what her favourite part was, she said “The bit where they got married, and the lady man with the vegetables hanging off his dress” Such things are only heard after panto, and should be cherished. A big thank you to our helping parents/governor who accompanied us on the trip. Without your help, we would not be able to take the children on such wonderful adventures (oh yes you would, oh…you get the idea)
We were also incredibly lucky to be visited by The Brodowski Quartet. They are a string quartet that has visited the school before and I always remember getting goosebumps listening to them play. Their assembly was engaging (a little too engaging for my liking, see Mrs Sloss’ post for further details), educational, fun and very festive.
Looking towards the final week of term(!), we will be having our annual run to raise money for charity. This year, we will be holding an Elf run (ears necessary, and supplied) in aid of Phyllis Tuckwell, a very worthy cause. Please send in your sponsorship forms and look out for a pair of ears and a tired child coming home Tuesday.
Looking even further into next term, we will be learning about people who help us. If you have a job that helps others (and I think all jobs do in some way!) then please speak to Mrs Haworth so that we can kidnap you for an hour one afternoon to share your skills with the children.
I am off to take my poorly dog to the vets today. Somehow, he has managed to get an ear infection so this week I have been wrestling ear drops into him! Then I’m off to do the last of my Christmas shopping. Wish me luck!
