I do like to be positive and look on the bright side but it has been far too hot this week and I have run out of thin frocks. I am trying very hard to not buy any new clothes for school because, as those of you who know me already, I have far too many. Being positive though, at least I will be able to get my thin frocks dry because it is still going to be hot at the weekend. No! Bring on the boots and tights I say!

It has been very calm in school this week as everyone settles in, plus EY don’t start full time until Monday. The children have been so pleased to see their friends again and are on the whole enjoying the routine of school after a long holiday. Obviously there will be ups and downs but there will be nothing that we can’t sort out together. We always say that tears can sometimes come in the second week onwards when the children are getting a bit tired and realise they have to come to school every day. The teachers can sometimes get a bit weepy too but that is another story.

The children are so good at looking after each other so thank you for bringing them up so well. We smiled today when a lovely Fox class boy came to the office near the end of the school day and said in quite a deep voice for a 6 year old, “We need first aid in Fox”. He then had a look round the entrance hall and went back without saying anything else! Children are so funny aren’t they and that’s why we all love our jobs so much. Back to the first aid which was of course duly administered and the injured child went home with a slip and an ice pack. The moral of that story was to not clip your hat that is on your head to your back pack that is on your back because you will fall over. Please don’t try that at home unless you carry out a risk assessment or move the furniture.

Have wonderful weekend and stay cool!
