Meteor Experiment – Bumblebee Class

First of all, we talked about why dinosaurs no longer roam the planet. We talked about the impact on the world when a big meteorite hit and wiped out all of the dinosaurs making them extinct. We decided it would be a good idea to create our own experiment and we answered the question “if the meteorite is further away, will it make a bigger impact?” We used a marble instead of a meteorite as we decided this is probably the safer option. First we did our predictions then we carried out the experiment. We dropped the marble from 3 heights: 10cm, 30cm and 50cm. We realised that the 50cm height caused the most impact because it was travelling faster. We had lots of fun doing this experiment and it was a fun way to round off our science week! Mrs Ford 😄
