Welcome back!

We hope you all had a lovely Easter break and it was great to see you all again this week.

This half term we are learning about mini beasts and there will be lots of exciting activities in the coming weeks.  On Tuesday we had a very special visit from Zoo Lab, which was very exciting.  Please look on tapestry at the photographs of the visit.

Our story of the week is ‘The Bug Collector’ which led to lots of lovely discussions about looking after mini beasts in their natural habitats.  After listening to the story, the children then designed their own bug in drawing club and wrote passwords to describe their bug.

In phonics this week we have learnt the special friend ‘air’, recapped what sounds we learnt before the Easter holidays and focused on the red words ‘no’ and ‘your’.

In maths we have recapped complex patterns and beyond exploring numbers beyond 10.

This week in PE the children have begun learning new ball skills.

Polite reminder:  Please ensure that your child has their library book in their book bag on a Monday, so that they change it and choose a new one.

Many thanks

The Reception Team
